Ruth Sheldon


A native New Yorker, Ruth Sheldon is a nationally recognized, award-winning, direct-response copywriter and marketer. Her work includes consumer and b-to-b print and online promotions, brochures, advertising sales materials and marketing collateral.

She has dozens of control packages to her credit for clients that include Hachette Filipacchi Media, Hearst Publishing, Conde Nast, Future Network USA, F&W Publishing, Citibank and JPMorgan Chase.

Her accomplishments include a campaign for The St. Regis Hotel which increased 1st quarter revenues by 68.9%. She earned tens of millions of dollars for American Express selling luxury products by mail. Filled rooms to capacity in Puerto Rico's better hotels with unique campaigns to travel agents. Boosted response rates in a national membership organization by 800%. And increased Pace University's student enrollment by 20% with targeted brochures to segmented markets.

For several years, Ruth was a principal in a direct response agency serving minority targets. Oxford Healthcare Division was her agency's first client. Ruth has been a presenter at Direct Marketing Day in New York, the HOW DESIGN CONFERENCE, and the DMDNY Education Committee.

Ruth served as editor of the Woman's Direct Response Group Newsletter, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Direct Marketing Creative Guild, a committee member of Direct Marketing Day in New York Education Committee, and was a 3-year Screening Co-Chair of the John Caples International Awards.
